You may have seen claims that Claude embeds an invisible watermark in generated text or images. We haven't found a published, verifiable source from Anthropic confirming that, so we won't claim this tool detects or removes a "Claude watermark" specifically. Claude also doesn't natively generate images. What this tool reliably does: strip hidden EXIF/XMP metadata and C2PA content-credentials manifests from images and documents, regardless of where the file actually came from.
Watermarks generally fall into two categories: visible marks overlaid on content, and invisible ones embedded as metadata (like a C2PA content-credentials manifest) or encoded into the data itself (like a pixel-level signal). Only the metadata kind can be removed without altering the underlying content — which is what this tool targets.

Whether it's a PNG a teammate sent, a PDF exported from a Claude conversation, or a DOCX from somewhere else entirely, upload it and the format is detected automatically — PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, DOCX, HTML, and Markdown are all handled in the same place.

The tool reads each file at the chunk or segment level, strips only the metadata blocks it finds, and copies everything else across byte-for-byte — so the file you get back works and looks identical to the one you uploaded.

Download the same file with whatever metadata was found stripped out — nothing else about it changes.
The actual file data is untouched; only the metadata layer is removed.
Check the exact fields that were detected and removed before you save the result.
Everything runs locally through the File and Blob APIs, so nothing is transmitted anywhere.
How It Works
No account, no server upload — everything happens on your device.
Remove watermark nowPNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, DOCX, HTML, or Markdown — any format the tool supports.
The tool analyzes the file and identifies hidden metadata elements that can be detected.
Once found, metadata blocks are stripped while the original content is preserved byte-for-byte.
Review exactly what was found and removed before exporting anything.
Download the cleaned file and continue using your content.
FAQ
Starting with the honest answer: we don't have a verified source confirming Claude embeds its own watermark.
Claude doesn't natively generate images. For text, we haven't found a published, verifiable source from Anthropic describing an invisible watermarking system the way Google's SynthID or OpenAI's C2PA credentials work — so we don't claim this tool can detect or remove a "Claude watermark." If you have a source confirming otherwise, we're happy to revisit this.
In general, invisible text watermarks aren't detectable just by reading the content — they typically require the specific detection system that matches how the watermark was generated. There's no universal way to check for one without knowing the underlying scheme.
It depends entirely on how the watermark works. Paraphrasing changes wording, which can disrupt some statistical watermarking schemes, but it isn't a reliable universal method — and it isn't something this tool does or claims to do.
It finds and strips metadata that's genuinely stored in the file: EXIF/XMP data, C2PA content-credentials manifests, and other embedded metadata in PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, DOCX, HTML, and Markdown files — useful for cleaning up any file you're working with, regardless of its origin.
No. Everything runs client-side in your browser using the File and Blob APIs. Your file is never sent to a server.
No. The tool parses the file at the chunk/segment level and only removes metadata blocks — the actual content is copied byte-for-byte, so there's no quality loss.
